Jock Monteith is a highly respected salmon fishing professional who has built a solid reputation for delivering top service levels within the Scottish salmon fishing industry.
Jock's involvement with Scottish salmon fishing spans back to 1970 when he landed his first salmon at the age of five on the River Tay under the guidance of 'legendary' Tay ghillie the late Willie Laird (1912-1991).
As a career Head Ghillie on the River Tay Jock significantly raised the operational standards of 2 high profile Tay salmon beats through his professional grasp of salmon fishing, beat management and client hosting. Jock's professional 'career' track record separates him from all other independent River Tay guided salmon fishing providers who have not benefitted from the vital experience & riverbank education a 'professional' River Tay salmon fishing career provides.
Jock has also achieved success in various other initiatives in the sport including playing the pioneering & private fundraising role for Europe's largest ever river habitat survey on the River Tay which successfully evaluated over 1000 miles of the Tay's headwaters via the Tay Western Catchment Project (see below).

Sky Sports 'Tight Lines' show July 2014 Jock assisted famous UK fisherman and ‘Tight Lines’ presenter Keith Arthur to his first ever salmon on The River Tay;
'Turus A Bhradain' (2007 -2009) TV series on rivers Tay, Spey & Fyne, Jock was invited to participate in these 3 episodes. This TV series is still being run today due to their viewership success.
