Fresh Run Scottish Salmon

9 Aug 2017

It's always extra special when you're fortunate enough to catch a salmon on the fly anywhere but it is even more special when you catch a fresh run fish that has only just entered the river from the sea. This is a fine example of a fresh run salmon with its ocean colours still in full display. Thousands of salmon are caught each year on the Scottish rivers and often fish like this are good takers if you can present your fly near them as they are still very much in oceanic hunting mode.
