Booking A Personal Salmon Fishing Guide

If you're new to this amazing sport or wish to maximise your chances of success during your Scottish salmon fishing trip then it is advisable to book a personal salmon fishing guide. Our professional salmon fishing guide service provides everything that is required including the salmon fishing permits to 'seasonally appropriate' & well managed salmon fishing venues, all the necessary salmon fishing tactical tuition, astute salmon pool knowledge & all the appropriate salmon fishing equipment including 'proven' salmon fly patterns.

"Over the decades that I've been professionally involved in this fantastic pursuit I've witnessed how crucial it is that effective Scottish salmon fishing tactics are quickly understood along and the fishing day effort being focussed on the correct river areas via a professional guide's salmon river knowledge & intuition". J Monteith

Jock Monteith is a conscientious professional salmon fishing coordinator who specialises in creating optimised salmon fishing itineraries based on decades of 'full time' Scottish salmon fishing experience. Here are some of Jock's unique salmon fishing credentials.

A Personal Salmon Fishing Guide

A professional salmon fishing guide will be personally dedicated to you and your party for the full fishing day. Your personal salmon fishing guide will provide all the necessary Speycasting & salmon fishing tactical tuition, advice on how to fish each salmon pool and all the required salmon fishing equipment (incl. waders & waterproofs) between the fishing hours of 9.00am & 5pm each day. For more information on our guided salmon fishing packages visit the Guided Salmon Fishing page of this website.

The Salmon Beat Ghillie

Most quality Scottish salmon fishing river venues employ a professional salmon beat ghillie who will be on site to perform multiple salmon beat tasks such as maintaining the facilities & riverbanks and to issue a salmon pool rotation to all fishing guests. He will also give advice and overview the fishing day operations but seldom will be able to dedicate his limited time solely to one specific guest or small group of fishers. 'Permit only' access to Scottish salmon fishing venues does not usually include a personally dedicated guide for the day, Speycasting & salmon fishing tactical tuition or the supply of all the appropriate salmon fishing equipment including flies and lures (unless pre arranged and usually at additional cost).
